Biography

Dragon Guardian is a Japanese symphonic power metal band known for its epic, fantasy-driven style that often resembles the soundtrack of classic anime or RPG games. The band combines fast, melodic metal with rich symphonic orchestration and story-focused compositions.

Nearly all Dragon Guardian releases are concept albums, telling tales set in fantasy worlds filled with knights, wizards, dragons, kingdoms, and battles between good and evil. Their lyrics are often written in a narrative style, similar to a novel or RPG storyline.

Musically, they are heavily influenced by European power metal bands such as Rhapsody of Fire and Stratovarius, while also incorporating classical music elements, synth orchestration, and touches of J-pop.

The band frequently features female vocals portraying characters within the story, paired with male vocals to enhance the theatrical and cinematic dimension of their music.
